Crafting Intelligent Experiences Through Innovative Design

Hello! I’m Scott—a UX design leader and innovation strategist based in Nashville. I’ve spent 15+ years designing digital experiences that actually work for people. Whether it’s simplifying clinical workflows for behavioral health clinicians or creating tools for financial advisors and educators, I’m driven by the belief that great design should feel effortless, intuitive, and above all, human.

Most recently, I led product strategy and design for Qualifacts iQ, an AI-first EHR experience built to reimagine how clinicians interact with complex systems. I worked closely with engineers, product leaders, and designers to craft a natural language-driven interface that automated documentation and removed a significant administrative burden. We weren’t just building a tool—we were giving clinicians back time so they could focus on care, not clicks.

Before that, I worked in fintech at UBS, higher ed marketing with Stamats, and even dabbled in broadcasting and streaming tech. Across all those roles, the common thread has been thoughtful experience design and a healthy obsession with research, usability, and innovation. I love bridging the gap between strategy and execution, business and design, users and technology. I have a knack for zooming out to see how all the moving parts connect—how design decisions, business objectives, and technical constraints interact as a larger ecosystem. It’s where I do some of my best thinking, aligning those elements into solutions that are both elegant and effective.

My creative roots actually go back to music. I grew up playing guitar—classical, fingerstyle, blues—and over time expanded into composing for documentaries, producing records, and mixing audio for all kinds of projects. That early training taught me how to listen deeply and craft experiences from both an emotional and technical perspective, something I carry into every design problem I tackle.

I've recently rekindled my love for photography. I’m especially drawn to cinematic-style portraits and love telling visual stories, often pulling from my background in filmmaking, advertising - and of course, design.

When I’m not playing guitar, designing, or behind the lens, I’m usually spending time with my fiancée Brianna, and our lively household of pets—two cool cats and two dogs with dichotomous personalities.

Over the years I’ve found that the best design work lives at the intersection of curiosity, empathy, and experimentation. That mindset continues to shape how I approach challenges. Whether I’m building products, mentoring teams, or exploring new ways to bring ideas to life.
